    Default Miami Trip

Got back from Miami last Sunday. Had a good time but traffic was horrible, the worst I've ever seen it. Amber (MV86) went along and she now loves Miami. We ate at Jerry's Famous Deli, went to South Beach, Key Biscayne etc and took a speedboat trip from Bayside with an 1,000 hp engine called "The Thriller." It is a catamaran that kind of looks like a cigarette boat only larger and set up for about 30 passengers. It went out into the Atlantic and around the homes of the rich and famous on Star Is etc. Really fast. I also had a mission from C Glide to photograph a house used in Vice and check another location to see if it was used to film a scene in Heart of Darkness.

You'll remember DanJ, a long time Vicer and location authority. We met Dan and his girlfriend at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood Florida. It is a gigantic entertainment complex with casino, all kinds of entertainment etc etc, Vegas style. We had dinner and rocked out at Bongo's one of a chain of Cuban restaurants owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan. Check it out at: http://www.bongoscubancafe.com/ They have a loud salsa band that plays while you eat so if you go, "The Rhythm is definitely gonna get ya." Cool place. Dan is doing fine and is happy. I tried to talk him into being an active Vicer and BN type again. No real reason why he isn't into Vice locations anymore but it's obvious he has a full life. When I asked him what I should tell the Vicers on this forum he said, "Tell them I have moved to Argentina and am in training to be a sniper." He is however, still into photography and locations, Las Vegas locations that is. He went into great detail about the changes to the City, where you can see the few old Rat Pack casinos remaining, how impressive Vegas is etc. Fascinating stuff.

Didn't take many photos. Amber took a lot more so hopefully she will post hers soon. Here are photos of the Vice house; the interior of Jerry's; the Thriller speed boat; Dan, Amber, and I; Dan taking a picture of Bongo's; and the inside of Bongo's Dining Room.
