Sonny working Vice is what ended their marriage, yet the love never faded. But they both moved on and found it again with other people.Caroline with Bob.Sonny with Theresa, then Caitlin.

My vote goes to Gina. Even though they weren't seriously involved with each other, she was there for Sonny (and he for her), and she never stopped carrying a torch for him for five long years, no matter if Sonny was married or not, or involved with another woman.Plus, she was the only one at OCB to not pull out her gun on amnesiac Burnett. :p

I have voted for Caitlin because she was the only woman in MV whom stayed a strong woman doing her own thing and allowing him to do his job. At the same time she was worried about him and not afraid to show him that. I liked Caroline too but I think she wanted a to live a quit life after some time and Sonny just wasn't ready for that he loved his police work to much.

Gina.I liked Tubbs' romantic interests a lot more than Crockett's to be honest. I mean I think Margaret, Christine and Brenda were just terrible characters.

I always thought he and Caroline were well matched ... she understood him far more than someone like Brenda. During the original run, I hoped they would get back together, that is before she hooked up with Bob.A close second is a tie between Gina and Caitlin. They were both feisty & stood up to him.As for his other loves (or should that be passing lusts): from a female viewpoint, they were forgettable although a lot of men on here liked Callie. Sonny's taste in women was eclectic so their appearances ranged from blonde to brunette & everything in between. It would be interesting to hear from men on how Sonny would pick his women when I thought we all had our favourite types. Maybe it was more a case of who the casting director picked??

Sonny's women were all so different looks-wise and class-wise it's hard to see any pattern in the character's tastes. Not sure if Sonny realized this, either.

There's no doubt in my mind that Gina was the one. She had class, integrity, very sexy and very gorgeous. She knew Sonny like a book. Remember when he had a very bad day and went to his boat, she was there where they had a romantic meal and wine. The other woman was not too bad, but there was only one for him, Gina.

Maybe, the choice for different types of women had something to do with his female fans. As Sonny wasn´t fixes to a special type of woman, his fans could always imagine that he could also fall in love with them. With Tubbs, it was different. I think that Angelina was the only non black woman, or am I wrong??(

With Tubbs' date=' it was different. I think that Angelina was the only non black woman, or am I wrong??[/quote']Yes, you're right, they were all black. This has always annoyed me in MV, perhaps it was some sort of a taboo issue back then in 1980s (to present a mixed race relationship in a movie, I mean). Tubbs could have a perfect partner and friend in a white guy but on the other hand he hardly ever cast his eye upon a non-black woman... I can't remember Sonny trying to chat up a non-white girl, either. I find it ridiculous; it's really good that in contemporary shows (like "House M.D.", for example) this is not a problem any more...And my choice regarding Sonny's woman is Gina as both in movies and in real life I value true friendship and being there with and for another person through thick and thin the most. Still, work and love usually do not combine well, do they? :/

My take has been that his rejection of her is what drives her to suicide in the end ... not their discovery of her as the crayon killer. And Cindy, the black teenage photographer being protected by OCB in French Twist also had a thing for Sonny, but not for Tubbs, who was babysitting her.

Tubbs tried to put the moves on a Court Stenographer in one episode. She was blonde and blue eyed.Plus he was always shown checking out all types of women.Suprised he never caught whiplash from constantly turning to checkout some chick's booty, lol!

My favorite Tubbs moment is in the pilot, when, while walking to the St. Vitus, Tubbs passes a beautiful woman and starts mimicking trumpet fanfare for her. :hot:

Hmmm, lots to choose from yet Gina would have shot Sonny eventually and when she went deep undercover, she usually did; Mosca and the fat pimp guy who I can't think of right now...She shot everyone else she had been with right? Margret was simply as put a hit and run as stated during the episode, Caitlin was so so in my eyes, yet brought something to Vice it really didn't need other than Sonny's cool hair style during that era, I liked the flight attendent that OD'd carrying the sample. Sara I think it was, yet not enough to go on with her other than Sonny said they always had a good time together. My vote which is a write in...The envelope........... please..........................Julia Roberts in the Burnett episodes. Hands down trumps them all!! What a neat little play toy she played.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: My 2¢ on this one...Mike

Burnett basically banged Polly since she was in the vicinity IMHO.Sara seemed to be really sweet, would've liked to seen more of that relationship. Sadly her demise was s/l dictated.

I didn’t like Brenda. I didn’t have the feeling she tried to understand the life of a cop and the way she flew out at Rico when he gave evidence of his concern was unforgivable. Thank goodness she was just L.W.P.:D I vote for Caroline and not only because they have a child together. It is obvious Sonny and Caroline love(d) each other very much. The scene that Sonny asks Caroline on the phone if it was real what they had, is very touching. But I really love the scene in “to have and to hold†when the crib is delivered at Caroline’s house. The delivery man asks if it’s their first baby and Sonny answers that they’ve done it before. His response makes Caroline smile in a way…she just loves him!!

There was also the Asian chick in Evan at the club where Tubbs was about to take her home before Sonny interrupted. Think her name was Michelle.

To resurrect this thread a bit, this was a tough call for me.

As to women for Crockett, I thought many had some qualities that at first seemed they would work...Gina who understood the grind and daily demands of being a Vice Cop; Caitlin who had a strong personality and could hold her own with Sonny; Polly was certainly a match in the Bad Girl Bad Boy department; and Caroline had perhaps the most down to earth personality of all, which may have been a good grounding influence on Sonny as suggested in some early scenes. Never could understand the Sonny/Brenda connection though. Celeste, while stylistically seemed a match to his alter ego, really never knew the true Sonny and likely would not be involved with a cop...same could be said for Polly. The Margaret thing never made sense to me ....I didn't get that unexplained attraction. Almost forgot Teresa...well to me this was a total miscast to put someone who looked like a teenager in a Dr role and never really explaining how Crockett  nearly presented her with a ring. She had way more personal issues than she could handle to even contemplate taking on Crockett in a relationship.

But overall I thought none of them were a great match for Crockett. Something seemed to be missing in each one for me and the chemistry was a major factor. I didn't get a lot of that between Gina and Sonny, as there were frequent conflicts, nor with Polly or Celeste as Sonny wasn't really himself as his alter ego Burnett.

Caroline had pretty much rejected the Vice lifestyle so she was never going to be long-term. Caitlin was living in an alternate universe of sorts....lots of flash and mega money that a Vice cop could not really appreciate. The same questions moneyed Brenda once asked Crockett about their future together could be asked by Caitlin, and likely similar answers. And Brenda then had her answer ..and both knew it.

Maybe Crockett was destined to live the bachelor life going forward. He had a hair trigger temper, was a hard drinker, worked long hours and immersed himself in the mindset of the drug world, and so his persona took on a lot of similar qualities at times. He became a tough minded skeptic and cynic, and even seemed burned out on life toward the end of the series.

So I think any woman who could match up to him would have to be familiar with his work lifestyle, maybe even involved in some ways, and have some incredible tolerance and patience. Maybe such that he could get some balance back in his work/life existence. So maybe another cop could be in his future, and a very understanding one at that.

Caroline was the best for Sonny. Despite their somewhat bitter divorce, Caroline was there with Sonny before he got caught up in all the flash and glamour of being a vice cop. Every woman who came after was connected to the business, Gina included.
