Forgive me if this has already been discussed/linked.  I can't get enough of these stories, especially as they quote people involved with the show.

This one has quotes from a local casting director...Maybe she knows who played the Stripper in the pilot?!?!?!

Great story!  Thanks for sharing.

Unfortunately the video portion would not work in Canada (typical U.S. media?)

Story was well written and covers the show's premise well.

I couldn't agree more with this quote from Saundra Santiago - “It’s funny now I look around and watch TV now and go ,’It’s so much more exciting in the 80’s.’ I would like to think Miami Vice was a big part of the fashion and hipness of the 80s,â€

Nice to see Don says Sonny Crockett has not retired and he has been talking to some big screen directors about potentially bringing Sonny Crockett back

:D

Ya I saw this and was going to post it.  It's the first time I've heard about DJ being interested in a Vice reboot of some kind- a real change of attitude. You see things differently as you get older so maybe it's age, maybe it's all the interest/publicity about the 30th anniversary of Vice.  Regardless of his motivation, I sure hope it happens.  To see DJ in Miami again in any role would be beyond cool.

Thank you so much for this article, Matt5!   This is what I've been praying for......a Miami Vice reboot with the original stars.

Don says, "But in order for Miami Vice to stay relevant the audience has to connect. At the heart of the show is the sense of humor and the irony and the chemistry, and that’s what I believe was so powerful."  :done:

That is exactly what I feel.....humor, especially & chemistry.  The only thing I would add is the right music  :radio: to fit the excitement of the scenes.  Oh how I hope this comes to pass!

First like anyone else out there , i was stunned and amazed when i heard that story of a possible series reboot . concerning the impact of the series . i think the series impacted southern Florida on the following points . i think the biggest impact of the series was on Medellin cartel narco traffic . the series contributed to bring to light to public the size of narco traffic in that area . narcos used to act like in a kind of "paradise" in that area , and i also read stories of large sized corruption (local police) affairs in that area . on another point i think the series also contributed to preserve the art deco buildings of Miami . the series being a relic of a cool era that no one would like to see disappear . i also think the series had an impact on the tourism from 2000 and beyond . but i don't think (i may be wrong) that the series had a huge impact on southern Florida tourism in the 1980-2000 period . MV was a cool series but for me Florida will always remain above MV . sometimes i read articles that are redacted in a manner we could almost think that Florida was cr$µ before MV and "heaven" after it . i was lucky to visit the 80s Florida with my parents when i was a kid and believe me Florida does not need anything to be "cooler" . hope i've been clear enough .. x)

If anybody can reboot Miami Vice into what it should be (humour, chemistry, music, and fashion), it's Don Johnson.

Who knows, maybe he'll work on it after Score.

"I’ve got a couple ideas of how you could do it in a seamless, spectacular way."

I'd love to hear these ideas. DJ, sign up and post if you're lurking.  :)
