Fargo directed by the Coen Brothers from 1996 and starring William H Macy and Steve Buschemi ( "El Viego" ) is meant to be a film masterpiece anyone seen it?? There is now a spin off tv show starring Billy Bob Thornton in 2014 .

Incidentally Director Colin Bucksey won an emmy this year for outstanding directing in a tv series for Fargo ( He directed many Season 4 and 5 episode of  Miami Vice "Death and the Lady", " Like a Hurricane", "Rock and a Hard Place" and "Victims of Circumstance" )

I have seen Fargo and own it on dvd.

It is brilliant!

The suttle jokes and nuances make it a thinking mans movie for sure and quite enjoyable. The plot was very good too.

I highly recommend it as well.

Fargo is a gripping movie & Steve Buschemi is excellent as an inept car salesman hiring shady guys to kidnap his wife to force his father-in-law to supply ransom money which will go to Buschemi. The suspense continues as everything that can go wrong...does and many people die!

The policewoman is terrific in her investigation

I watch this movie at least once a year & never get tired of it.

No I haven't seen the series......I never like a series based on one of my favorite movies.

The opposite is more likely....a movie made from a series, like "The Fugitive."

I REALLY wanted to see the series (1st season), it has this really out-there quality.  Creepy mysteries going down in the frozen boonies.  Billy Bob Thornton.

Some competing program interfered, so I could not watch.

Vicers really have good taste, I am reminded.

Thanks Tony watched it last nite - very good - dark comedy. Just shows how things can spiral out of control in a bad situation in fact it was based on a true story.
