I really love them, my childhood has passed with them. They are creator of the Turkish Anatolian Rock & Pshyhedelic genres in 70's,80's and 90's.

Cem Karaca (the friend of Barış Manço on bands Kurtalan Ekspres and Mogollar but his difference from Baris, his politic view more like Socialism,Communism thats means in Turkey "left side" But Barış's view is Turkish Nationalizm. Not the Hitler Nationalizm.. More like he insterested Turkish Nations (Azerbaijan,Khrgızistan,Turkmens and the others, he isn't racist. He's a very gentleman guy and so negotiated with between themselves, they hadn't had nadred for their different politics view to together. and Cem Karaca,Erkin Koray and Cahit Berkay too!)

Dönence, This song is more like Psyhedelic Rock (Until In 12 September 1980, In 70's in Turkey more of people killed each other for their politic views. (Nationalist and more to close USA against to Socialist more close to Russia) Baris took base this and expect on this song what's going on in Turkey and what the hell are you doing you each other! The reason with Turkish Armed Forces had couped to Turkish Government)

From Lyrics

Gün çoktan döndü buralarda ve ben simsiyah bir gecenin koynunda yapayalnız bekliyorum, duyuyorum.. görüyorum.. bir gün gelecek dönence biliyorum...

The day has already turned around here and I've been waiting lonely in pitch black night.

I hear... I see... Someday will come the tropic I know...

Wow, Knight&Crockett very nice indeed! A turkish artist and he is singing in german - how cool is that?!? His german is very good, did he lived in Germany? He is singing about the german people of turkish background who came here to Germany in the 60's as workers. 1,4 million out of 82 million are with a turkish backround. I am glad to have them as my neighbours. I never heard of this other guy as well...he reminds me of the actor from the movie "Machete"! ;-)

Çok teÅŸekkür ederim for posting this stuff!

BTW: Sorry berliner69 you are wrong. How can you say this is the wrong place for this kind of stuff?!? It obviously is 80's and Miami Vice ( as he is filming at the MV set) related. This is an international Forum with people from all over the world, from north to south from east to west, from christs, muslims, jews and other religions. So Knight&Crockett, your posts are welcome and your english is not broken.

You mean you never heard Barış Manço ? Yeap Barış Manço was friend of Cem Karaca and Barış Manço was the same band. And Barış Manço had a big celebrity around the worldwide. He had made a lot of gigs in USA and England too.

I very like his song with his band Kurtalan Express - Dönence, It's about 70's environment. Most of youth people had killed each other for stupid their political views. So sad 'cause every day and every night most of people had been killed on the streets. Gunshots, bombs explosions just like the hell Miami streets. In 12 September 1980 The Turkish Armed Forces couped the government because they couldn't stopped this bad events on their government. Barış is saying one day everything will be great he has hopeful expectations to the future.

From the lyrics

Simsiyah bir gecenin koynundayım, yapayalnız

I'm in bosom of pitch black night very lonely

Bir gün gelecek dönence, biliyorum

Some day will come tropic, I know

Beside Baris's politicial view was different from Cem. But they always had negotiated each other.

Baris more like close to USA and he was a nationalist (not racist). Cem more like close to Soviet Russia, he was a socialist.

But I don't understand what wants to say berlin69er. I just wanted to share because it's from 80's. Besides, Barış Manço had visited Miami Vice set in Miami in 1987 and visited Universal Studios Stunt Show in 1989 and when he visited the stunt show, he was looking for Don Johnson for reportage.

Okay, you was right for about Atatürk, but I just wanted to show you his charismatic personality as like as Sonny Crockett. But that topic has been moved to off topic. This topic isn't about any religion and politic things. This just about only music. Barış Manço just made song about of what the hell is going on in Turkey you understand ? My aim wasn't make any confusion. If  I have been Imisunderstood, I'm sorry..

Let's enjoy the music.

berliner69, i understand your thoughts of going to political in this forum. About the Atatürk topic you might be right, but this particular thread was about the music, in this case the 70's and especially the 80's Anatolian rock with a connection to Miami Vice and it's area.We also have some other members from Turkey and maybe some new will join in the future. So as i mentioned before, in my opinion this topic fits quiet good in this international forum.
