Victor
I just love in the game to wait when it gets dark and hop in the black Stinger and cruise around the Washington Beach listening to radio station Wave
nalicali
Such a solid game, and looking back it was very Mann-esque with the use of colorful visuals and music. It was great when you got three stars on you and the somewhat look-a-like Crockett and Tubbs would get out of their Cheetah and start blasting away at you. Administrators James Posted September 4, 2014 Administrators Report Share Posted September 4, 2014 I just love in the game to wait when it gets dark and hop in the black Stinger and cruise around the Washington Beach listening to radio station Wave 103 Too bad it doesn't actually come in black, but dark red (which kind of looks black). I always do the black cars cheat to get a black one, then disable the cheat.

agent 47
It's been awhile since I've updated this thread but since GTA: Vice turned fourteen years old last month thought it was worth doing so as YouTuber Majami Hiroz did a pretty cool remaster of the game's opening for the anniversary.
Administrators James Posted November 8, 2016 Administrators Report Share Posted November 8, 2016 Saw that the other day as I'm subscribed to Majami. Beautifully done. I also noticed the use of the "Vice City Rage" mod for GTA IV for the intro. The rest of the video are animations made by him.
ArtieRollins
Have been hooked on beating my terrible VC Sunshine Auto Race time records, but after all this time I always seemed to use the wrong vehicles, instead the "answer" were there right in front of me in the Sunshine Studio with the Hotring Racer. Have not tried out every fast car in the game, but the Hotring racer is fantastic to drive, fast and I almost never lose any control were other fast cars would be very difficult to handle in tight corners and so on. With the Infernus, Banshee, Cheeta etc, I never managed to get below 4:35 on the 6th street race known as The Endurance Lap, but with the Hotring Racer I did 4:29 then 4:26 then 4:20 and know I stand on 4:19 but I think that it is possible to go below 4:10 but then one have to drive like a possesed maniac without crashing into other drivers/cars and have a perfect lap all the way through. agent 47
Hey guys, thought I'd update the thread as we are getting closer to this game's fifteenth anniversary and I found something interesting and Miami Vice-related. Apparently on the European soundtrack for Flash FM the songs "I Wanna Be a Cowboy" by Boys Don't Cry, "Hold the Line" by Toto, and Vice's own "Smuggler's Blues" by Glenn Frey are tracks on the CD despite not being in the game. The Toto song was later used in San Andreas on the classic rock station but I can't find any info why these other two aren't in the final game or why they are on the soundtrack. https://www.discogs.com/Various-Grand-Theft-Auto-Vice-City-OST-Volume-4-Flash-FM/release/3816325
Administrators James Posted June 27, 2017 Administrators Report Share Posted June 27, 2017 That's odd. I never knew that! Perhaps they were originally planned but cut from the final game? Hold the Line was later used in Vice City Stories, I believe.
Dadrian
Kind of reminds me of the mystery songs on the "Miami Vice II" soundtrack (which are both magnificent, IMO, and should have been used in the show).
Marc
I bought all of them for the PS4. When I played GTA III the controls are so bad when you first get the club it turned me off.
jenny
I love this game! I'm glad they made it available in the Google play store so I can play on my phone!
jenny
Sometimes I won't actually play the game....ill just drive around and listen to the radio stations! It's feels so realistic.
jenny
If you think the graphics were great then....imagine if they did it now! They would kill the game in a good way of course, because Tommy Vercetti and the characters would look just like real people!

Assasinge
Just want to point out that all the Miami Vice references in GTA Vice City are completely intentional, no doubt. Comparison list: http://gtaforums.com/topic/643453-gta-vice-city-vs-miami-vice/ And from this thread, run through the posts people made and more references add up: http://gtaforums.com/topic/562523-the-mr-vercetti-suit/ Edited July 30, 2017 by Assasinge

(Leslie Benzies was still at Rockstar when they made GTA 5, so...). If you haven't noticed - Every GTA game since Vice City has had a few songs on the soundtrack which were also in the Miami Vice soundtrack. Heck, even Don Johnson is on the GTA 5 soundtrack, there's a reason for that. They wouldn't have just put it in because they liked the song. The fact that they added it in is a clear reference to Miami Vice. And almost all of Rockstar Games' stories are made and directed in the style of Michael Mann. I'm entirely confident that the next game will be back in Vice City, so that's something to look forward to. They'll probably announce it a year after Red Dead Redemption 2 releases.

I personally am not a fan of GTA 5 myself as much as I am of GTA 4, but here is the link for those snooping around: Or if you want to see the actual video: Which, actually thanks for reminding me this song existed, because I just bought DJ's entire album. Hah! Still awed that the man himself, the legend Don Johnson, made music! I only discovered it through GTA 5 actually. It's a mod done on PC for GTA V, so if you had a gaming PC and GTA V you could try doing it
